I might need to paint  another black bear to resemble the one visiting our backyard every evening. I'm already bringing in the bird feeders at 6pm. The bear will lay in the back field and watch us in the yard until we go inside...then it's quiet... then he moves in for a little snack of spilled bird seed.

Ahem...I DON'T THINK SO, THEODORE. Back in the woods you go...

I finished my latest project - my garden cabinet for the garage. I  just love it - it's fun to look at and that makes me want  to keep everything in it organized - it's the perfect incentive! :)

I've been busy getting ready for this weekend's show. I was able to complete a piece that I've been working on for some time. I started a new one today and really hope to have that completed as well but time is not on my side. Although, I could skip a night or two of sleep to get it done. (I think I'll pass on THAT idea! I think...)

I've been painting a piece of furniture - and old cabinet we moved from camp and put in our garage.  I'm using this piece for all my gardening supplies and it's going to work out GREAT. I'm so excited.

Some of the original colors inside the piece were red, yellow and lime green (I know! weird!). However, those original colors were very inspiring so I'm just freshing up the red, used a butter-cream yellow and a celery green, and black! I'm not quite done with it yet but I have to say...I'm having a ball with it.  For me, it's a completely different approach to creating "art" and it's so much fun!

I hope to finish it this week so I can get back to my OTHER art work. My latest piece is not far from being complete but at this rate... ;)

6 inches of snow this morning? What? Okay..."lemonade out of lemons..." thingy: I supposed it could be very inspiring for me to paint a black & white piece.

But first...where's the shovel and my boots?

I was hoping that my latest piece would only increase my happiness over the recent warm weather.  However, due to the 20 degree temps today, it's only reminded me how far from summer we really are!  (perhaps I should paint the butterfly with some snow on it's wings?  no! I refuse to give in...summer IS coming, I just know it!) Now...where's my sweater?

My last class is coming up next week.  Funny...when I started I thought to myself why would someone take the SAME class over and over?  Now...I can't imagine taking the class ONLY ONCE.

Until I can sign up again, next fall, I'm going to miss my instructor - she's so helpful and knowledgeable; and, I'm going to miss each lady/classmate who I will never foget - I hope they're all still taking the class by the time I'm able to get back. 

I've learned so much more than some techniques and tricks of the trade...I've learned  "There are no mistakes - just learning experiences." :)  Thank you for all the encouragement, laughs and smiles and giving me something else to look forward to in my future - spending time with you again and doing something we love, together. Until then...like Bunny says, "Dream in color."

After being at a show in Ill. and then getting home to the whole family having the flu (including me!), it was GREAT to feel good and to get outside and paint again. 

I've only been able to complete one piece in the last 2 weeks but I'm happy with the piece - a buffalo in a valley with mountains in the background. The purchaser plans on giving it to his uncle (in Montana) for a gift - after adding his family's last name to the bottom of the piece.

I'm hoping to start my next piece today - a window - that will have some apples and maybe some birds and/or butterflies - back to warm weather motiffs for a little while ...which seems backwards since the weatherman is predicting snow.  Hope my tulips survive!

Painting what I want and enjoy to paint...and painting what I think OTHERS will enjoy is a constant struggle for me.  Who am I painting for? If I don't paint what I enjoy painting won't that show up in the completed piece? I know it shows up in ME.

I just finished reading the book titled The Monfils Conspiracy...VERY interesting read.
