IDEAS, THOUGHTS AND THINGS TO INSPIRE US

Saturday

by Michele L. Mueller on 05/13/11

Tomorrow morning is my sister's memorial. This has been a stressful time so I'll be glad when this is over and life can return to "normal". Expect...how is that possible when my sister WAS part of that..."normal"...?

It will be most difficult for my two nephews tomorrow - 18 and 20 years old. They've had some rough times in their young lives but none as rough as tomorrow will be.

God give us ALL strength and peace.

Thank You!

I LOVE it when people call me to come and take away their old windows. Thank you to all of you who have sent  emails, texts, called me or messaged me on my Panes of Art Facebook page.  It means so much to me - especially, those windows from old family homes and farms. If there was ever a time I wish I was psychic it's when I touch one of those old windows. Thank goodness people are willing to share their stories with me - it really touches my heart and allows me to see those old windows as SO MUCH MORE.  THANK YOU.

Rain, Rain Go Away?...

by Michele L. Mueller on 05/10/11

So it's supposed to be a rainy week...so what. Inside, I'm smiling and the sun is shining; I hope you are feeling the same way, too. :)

So true...

Winter Wonderland

by Michele L. Mueller on 03/23/11

I was going to remove my snowflake painting  from above the fireplace but when I had to push the snow away when I opened the door this morning I decided it was okay to leave it up another week.

Our power flickered twice during the night but thankfully that was all. We're supposed to go to the library this morning but I think we'll skip that and the hazardous road conditions.

I believe it's a good day for some painting... and soup. :)

8"-15"?

by Michele L. Mueller on 03/21/11

Okay...I thought Spring was just around the corner but with 8-15" in the forecast for the next 2 days...I'm not so sure. Actually, I'm finding it really depressing!  I'm in serious need of some warm weather, melting snow, robins, sunshine and a good TAN. ;)

Good Morning...

by Michele L. Mueller on 03/12/11

Up early to use the treadmill again...grrrr...surgery would be SO much easier (I think, until I see all those bandages and bruises!).

It's snowing outside just alittle. I'll have to check the radar later.

I'm going to start working on my next painting today - I'm so excited! A black and white zebra stripe! I did a black and white crackle frame. I'm hoping it's going to look fun and funky and kewl. :)  I think I'm going to title it: "The Jersey in Me"! :)

Quick and fun...

Here's a quick little quiz to test your creativity! How accurate is it, you might ask?  Good question! Only YOU know the REAL answer to the question. :)

I can feel it in the air...

by Michele L. Mueller on 03/02/11

With the bright sunshine of the last few days...I can feel the tease of Spring in the air!  I'm also getting that urge to clean out closets and shampoo carpets, etc.  also known as the sometimes dreaded...wait for it..."Spring Cleaning".  I actually enjoy spring cleaning - and the first chance I get to open a window on a decent day is the best! I feel like I'm letting all that stale winter air OUT and replacing it with a fresh, springy air. Is it me or does the house feel...bigger and more happy when it's fresh and clean?

Matthew's 3rd birthday is coming up March 26...mine is this Friday (March 4th)...and Grandma Mueller's is March 10th. There will be a lot of spring celebration on our hands this month so I guess I better stop thinking about spring cleaning and start DOING IT. :)  Orrrr...should I take a walk and check out my window inventory (again) instead...hmmm...OKAY! ;)

Tapping Into Your Creative Energy...

by Michele L. Mueller on 02/20/11

Sometimes I find myself having something similar to a "writer's block"...a...painter's block, if you will (which I'm currently experiencing).  It seems like my mind can't stop mulling over the past day's events and/or the "to do list" for tomorrow. I can't help to picture little beavers damning up my creative river with the items from the other parts of my life! I want to yell, "Move that stuff out of my way! My creative river needs to flow freely!" lol...

Since I'm always looking for different ways to unblock this river, I've become pretty good at actually doing it - NOT. It's an ongoing battle somedays and others...it's just the opposite - it's like the little beavers gave up and decided to move their engineering project elsewhere!

Anyway...below I found a little article with some suggestions on how to help us through a time when we might feel a little mentally blocked. Feel free to comment on any helpful techniques YOU have!
